Questions & Answers
Here are some of the common questions I get asked about things like what to wear, how to use Zoom, and what payment options I accept.
How do I take part in a Zoom class?
To use Zoom, download the “Zoom Cloud Meetings” app onto your phone or tablet, or login to your web browser. You will be asked to input your name when you first set up.
When you have booked a class you will receive the class link – click on the link, or input the number, to join the meeting
Please accept join with both camera and audio switched on (sometimes you need to check the settings on your device to do this) – this means we can both see and hear each other. It is also a good idea to know how to operate the mute button and the chat function to communicate during/after class.
Prior to joining the class, you will be placed in a waiting room and the screen will say “waiting for host”. Once the class is open your instructor will welcome you and you can say hello to other class participants if you wish. When the class starts all the participants will be muted to minimise interference. It is advisable to put your screen onto ‘speaker’ mode, so you focus on the instructor and the exercises.
At the end of the class the instructor will ask for any feedback. You can unmute and talk to other participants at this point, if you wish. The instructor will end the meeting for all or you can choose to leave the class using the leave button.
All participants must have completed a client form prior to their first fitness for you class but please advise of any changes and new health/injuries prior to class. You take part in the classes at your own risk and of your own choice.
What do I need to take part in a Zoom class?
To take part you need a safe space to exercise in, a computer/tablet/phone that you can see in front of you, and, ideally you should have an exercise mat, though it’s not essential.
You should make sure you have some water to drink during and after the session.
Equipment if required for classes (light hand weights/bands for the resistance classes)
How do I book classes?
Click on Class Timetable on the menu to see the classes running for the month. You can click on particular days to get the class information for that day. New users will need to create an account.
The timetable will always have core classes but i’ll be regularly adding a few different ones so you can try something different if you wish.
I’d strongly suggest you don’t leave it to the last minute to book your classes through the booking system AND make double-sure you have your link in plenty of time. It’s often hard for me to help you immediately before classes, as i’m trying to prepare to teach.
If you’d rather book individual classes rather than buy a monthly class pass, you can do so by choosing the class or classes you want to come to on the class timetable. Click on each day to get all the class information you want, make your choice of class and then add a few details through the secure booking page.
Once you’ve made your payment by debit or credit card, you’ll automatically be emailed your link for the class. The site is totally secure, and your details won’t be shared with anyone.
Do I need to pre-book to attend?
Yes, pre-booking is required for all my classes, as places are limited. If a class is full you will be placed on a waiting list and advised if a space becomes available. Non-attendance of a pre-booked class is non-refundable – on zoom a recording will be sent though. If you are not sure which class is right for you please get in touch for a no obligation chat to discuss.
What are your monthly class packages?
Zoom packages give you the option of joining multiple classes every month. To buy your package, select the one you want, give a few details through the booking page and make your payment by debit or credit card. Don’t worry, the site is totally secure.
Once you’ve bought your pass, you’ll be able to book whichever classes or videos you want to attend through the online timetable. All you have to do is click on the classes you want to book; enter your name and email and the site will automatically email you your link for the class. Do double-check that you use the correct email address.
You can book all your classes in one go for the month, or visit daily, weekly or whenever you like. Once your pass runs out you won’t be able to book any more until you buy another one or opt to pay as you go.
What payment options do you accept?
I accept payment by debit and credit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay, through the online booking system.
What should I wear on my feet?
For Pilates, you should either be barefoot or wear socks. For sessions involving weights, it’s important you wear trainers.
What's the best clothing to wear?
We recommend any comfortable clothing, such as a T-shirt with leggings, shorts or tracksuit bottoms.
Can I cancel a class i've booked?
To withdraw from a class, log into your account and press withdraw. Please remember you must withdraw before the class starts to get a credit.
